38u is an orally bioavailable, potent and specific inhibitor of asparagine endopeptidase (AEP) and suppresses matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) cleavage leading to the inhibition of cancer metastasis.  38u represses breast cancer cell (MDA-MB-231) invasion and migration in nude animals via oral administration.  AEP IC50=0.16+0.02μM.
